The Innisfail Arena will soon host the 2014 Innisfail and District Trade Show sponsored by the Innisfail and District Chamber of Commerce.

This ‘family affair' will be take place April 25 and 26 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday night and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday. Innisfail and area businesses will be showcasing their goods and services. A family area will be home to a variety of activities and displays aimed at children.

“We are looking forward to the 2014 trade show,” said Diane Mineault, executive director of the Innisfail and District Chamber of Commerce. “To date we are over half sold out for trade show booths and we have our concession suppliers set as well as activities in the family area.”

Last year's show had 133 booths and four farmer's market tables.

Mineault said Nummies by Mummies restaurant will be operating the concession. Fortis Alberta will be hosting a free barbeque on Friday night. Servus Credit Union will be supplying a free pancake breakfast Saturday morning, and Innisfail's Royal Bank will be hosting a Junior Talent Show (age 10 and under) on Friday night.

There will also be a child-minding centre so that parents can enjoy the trade show while the kids are entertained. As well as a bouncy castle, there will be human hamster balls on water, a mechanical bull and sparkly face painting, added Mineault.

“It will be a very enjoyable event for the entire family,” she said.

In addition to events planned, the community is invited to participate to help fill in the entertainment slots for the stage area. Information on open spots is available from the Chamber office.

“We are asking for bands, singers, and performers of all types to contact us. Everyone is welcome,” added Mineault. “This is Innisfail's trade show and we want to make it the best we possibly can,”
