Murder suspect arrested
A man charged in the death of Dana Turner was arrested in B.C. on March 15.
Mark Damien Lindsay has been charged with second degree murder, indignity to a body and obstruction of justice. His alleged victim's remains were found about 10 kilometres west of Innisfail in October 2011 after Turner was reported missing to the Fort Saskatchewan RCMP in August 2011.
Lindsay is being transported back to Alberta to set a date for his first court apperance.

Church vandalized
Sometime overnight Sunday March 18, entry was gained to the Church of Nazarene on 49 Avenue. Numerous items were damaged in the break and enter however nothing was stolen. Police have seized several items as evidence and RCMP Forensic Identification Section are working to process physical evidence in relation to the crime. If you have any information on crime or the potential suspect or suspects, RCMP are asking for calls to the Innisfail detachment at 227-3342 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS.
Buyer beware
Cpl. Jeff Hildebrandt is reminding residents to be cautious when completing transactions using buy/sell sites on the Internet.
"People really have to pay attention to how they're paying," Hildebrandt said.
There were three fraud cases of faulty Internet buys reported last week, he said. In each case the individuals agreed to purchase something posted online and forwarded money using Western Union. They never received the merchandise.
"It has to be a buyer beware situation," Hildebrandt said.
He said buyers have no legal recourse but to sue if they use a transfer service like Western Union.
He said in one case last week a local resident attempted to buy a dog over the Internet. The dog was never sent and when the seller was contacted, they attempted to ask for more money, claiming the dog was held up at the border by customs.
Hildebrandt said buyers should arrange to be in sight of the property and ensure they are happy with the merchandise before proceeding with the transaction.
He said many items on such buy/sell sites can be stolen property and reminded people that if a deal sounds to good to be true, it probably isn't true.
Window weapon
An individual is being charged with assault with a weapon after a property dispute last week.
Hildebrandt said the incident occurred in Penhold. A person was trying to climb back into a residence through a window, which another individual slammed down on the climber's arm.
Hildebrant said the window-slam resulted in bruising and soreness of the arm on the alleged victim.
Drug trafficking
Hildebrandt said there was "a rash" of four drug trafficking complaints called in last week.
He said all four were for unrelated tips and reminded the public the police do investigate such tips. "We're always interested in hearing from the public," Hildebrandt said. He said the four complaints from last week are now all active investigations.
