INNISFAIL – A man was in serious condition after being stabbed numerous times yesterday by suspects believed to have been travelling in a delivery-type vehicle.

Innisfail RCMP Cpl. Michael Heysa said at about 7:38 p.m. on Nov. 10, local Mounties were dispatched to a rural property within Red Deer County where a 36-year-old male had been stabbed multiple times.

The suspects are unknown at this time but are believed to have been driving a delivery-type vehicle, said Heysa.

He said evidence was recovered at the scene with the assistance of the RCMP’s Police Dog Services Unit and the Innisfail Integrated Traffic Unit.

Heysa said the victim was transported via STARS air ambulance to hospital with serious injuries. He is currently in stable condition, he said.

The RCMP believe this incident to be a targeted drug-related incident and do not believe that the public is in danger, said Heysa.
