INNISFAIL – RCMP have arrested a teenager wanted in connection to a rash of local reports about thefts from vehicles.

At about 6:35 a.m. on Feb. 16, Innisfail RCMP were dispatched to a complaint involving a suspicious male walking through a local neighbourhood attempting to get into unlocked vehicles, said Innisfail RCMP Const. Craig Nelson in a news release issued today, Feb. 17.

Nelson said over the next few hours other citizens in the area began reporting other thefts from vehicles and posting about the same suspicious male on social media.

He said at about 10 a.m. RCMP, with the assistance of Innisfail community peace officers, located the suspicious male. He was then taken into custody.

Tyson William Taylor, 19, of no fixed address, has been charged with attempted theft under $5,000 and two counts of theft under $5,000

Nelson is reminding the public that if anyone sees suspicious activity, they should report it immediately to police.
