INNISFAIL – Two suspects who allegedly robbed two citizens more than six weeks ago in a local hotel room have been arrested, while a third is still being hunted by RCMP.
In a news release issued on Jan. 10, Innisfail RCMP Sgt. Lori Eiler said the incident at the Innisfail Hotel occurred shortly before 2:30 a.m. on Nov. 24 when three suspects - two males and one female - gained entry to a top floor apartment at the Innisfail Hotel.
Eiler said the suspects then ordered a male and female not to move and stole a quantity of property before exiting the building and fleeing in a blue PT Cruiser-style vehicle. The two victims were not harmed, said Eiler.
On Jan. 10, Innisfail RCMP requested the public to assist in identifing a female observed on CCTV at the scene of the crime.
Eiler said RCMP received numerous Crime Stoppers tips from the public and the female was identified.
Kayla Jackson, 23, of Red Deer Alberta has been charged with robbery with a firearm, unlawfully in a dwelling house, forcible entry and fail to comply with conditions.
Benjamin William Bjarnson (33 years) of Red Deer Alberta has been charged with robbery with a firearm, unlawfully in a dwelling house, disguise with intent, possess weapon for a dangerous purpose, pointing a firearm, use of a firearm in an indictable offence, and forcible entry.
Police have identified a third suspect as Devyn Michael Hendriksen, 23, of Red Deer. Police are still actively looking for him and he is wanted on warrants related to this incident.
He has been charged with robbery with a firearm, unlawfully in a dwelling house, disguise with intent, possess weapon for a dangerous purpose, pointing a firearm, use of a firearm in an indictable offence anf forcible entry.
