INNISFAIL – Green thumbs aren’t just for adults. Thanks to the Innisfail Library/Learning Centre’s Co-op Keyhole Community Gardens, children are proudly showing off their green thumbs and their fresh, local produce grown this summer.

INNISFAIL - The town is applying for a provincial grant to pay for a regional RCMP school resource officer that will not only provide skilled service and mentorship for local students but also for those in Penhold and Red Deer County.

INNISFAIL - The Innisfail Kinsmen and Kinette Club of Innisfail are applying for a $476,000 provincial grant that will cover half of the estimated cost of the new skatepark the town has pledged to build next year.

INNISFAIL - After two years of multiple mechanical and electrical problems with the town's aging and unreliable handivan, local seniors and handicapped citizens are finally getting their long- awaited brand new unit by the new year.

INNISFAIL – ATB recently marked a special milestone. Friends, customers, staff, management and special guests gathered in Innisfail on Friday (Sept. 28) to celebrate ATB Financial’s 80th birthday, commemorating its official opening on Sept. 29, 1938.

INNISFAIL - Alearra Day Chief is a 15-year-old Innisfailian with big dreams. The Grade 10 student is on an ambitious journey to change Innisfail to make it a better community for local youth. This month she is teaming up with Innisfail RCMP Const.

INNISFAIL - Firefighters from Bowden and Innisfail were called to the southbound lanes of the Queen Elizabeth II Highway early in the evening of Sept. 26 to battle a hay bale fire that erupted on a semi truck trailer.

INNISFAIL – Area farms are busy harvesting fall crops. At The Jungle Farm, cabbage is one of them. The Jungle Farm, located north of Innisfail, recently held its annual Sauerkraut Festival on Sept. 15.

BOWDEN -- Crime in Bowden is down or on par with last year in virtually every category when the first six months of this year are compared to the same period last year, and when stats from the second quarter of this year (April to June) are analyzed.

INNISFAIL – It’s a night to honour Innisfail’s finest. The Innisfail Community and Business Awards Gala: Celebrating Excellence in Our Community, is set to take place at the Innisfail Royal Canadian Legion on Oct. 12.
