Finally, wrestling is coming back to Olds

After a long drought, professional wrestling is returning to Olds.Real Canadian Wrestling is bringing its New Year's Carnage show to the Olds Royal Canadian Legion #105 on Jan. 18.

After a long drought, professional wrestling is returning to Olds.Real Canadian Wrestling is bringing its New Year's Carnage show to the Olds Royal Canadian Legion #105 on Jan. 18.The event will have 14 wrestlers competing in seven matches, including a no-rules, last-man-standing ìstreet fightî featuring Stampede Wrestling legend Dr. Zhivago, said RCW's owner and promoter, Steven Ewaschuk.He added the event is ìfamily friendly,î licensed and will include a concession stand.

The matches begin at 7:30 p.m. and tickets are available at the legion.

Advance tickets are $12 and tickets at the door are $12 for those aged 12 and under and $15 for adults.

The legion is located at 5241 46 St. (Highway 27).

This is RCW's 11th year in operation and Ewaschuk said the Edmonton-based, family-owned company is making a strong effort to tour in more small communities.
