Olds is taking part in a cross-country live painting competition next month.The Olds Legion will host Art Battle Day on May 10.During the event, professional and up-and-coming local artists will go through three rounds of competitive painting, starting from a blank canvas.The audience will vote for round winners until one is crowned event champion.Local winners advance to a regional championship, where if they are successful, they move on to a national tournament in July.Art Battle Day is a nationwide event of competitive painting with more than 250 artists participating in local communities across Canada.This year's Art Battle Day will be the fifth annual event intended to promote Canadian artists.Different Strokes Gallery is organizing the event and more information can be found by contacting the gallery at 403-556-2233 or [email protected] sign up for the competition, visit [email protected]
