Council approves board membership

Mountain View County councillors have approved appointments to boards, committees and commissions for upcoming terms. The move came by way of motion during the recent organizational meeting.

The agricultural service board advises the county and the province on agriculture-related issues and concerns. Members at large appointed to the board on a three-year term rotating basis are Brent Buschert, Tom Jackson, Sean La Brie and Brian Rodger. Council members on the ag board will be Dwayne Fulton, Peggy Johnson and Duncan Milne.

Members at large appointed to the subdivision and development appeal board are Lori Conkin, Alana Gibson, Gil Hegel, Mark Olson, Jason Shantz and Kim Walton. Council members on the board are Bruce Beattie, Greg Harris and Al Kemmere.

Members at large on the weed-pest appeal board are Lori Conkin, Alana Gibson, Gil Hegel, Mark Olson, Jason Shantz and Kim Walton.

Members at large on the Eagle Valley Area Structure Plan committee are David Bach, Jim Smith, Rosalie Jorgensen, and community association representative Anne Macklin. Council members appointed are Aalbers, Harris and Johnson.

The audit committee members are councillors Aalbers, Beattie and Fulton and member at large Sandra Carson.

Coun. Harris is appointed to the BearSmart committee.

Coun. Aalbers is appointed to Campus Alberta Central.

Councillors Johnson and Harris (alternate) are appointed to the Central Mountain View Action Group.

Councillors Aalbers and Beattie are appointed to Central Rural Municipalities of Alberta.

Coun. Aalbers is appointed to Community Learning Campus.

Councillors Harris, Kemmere and Milne are appointed to Community Services Grant Committee.

Coun. Aalbers is appointed to the County Long-range Infrastructure Plan Committee.

The organizational meeting saw Beattie re-elected as reeve for 2018-19, and Aalbers as deputy reeve.
