The reviews came during a recent regularly scheduled council meeting in the form of the quarterly report from Chris Atchison, director of legislative services.

The Didsbury fire department members responded to 54 incidents between April 1 and June 30.

Of those, one was for a gas leak, 13 for EMS assists, 10 for outside fires, 10 for motor vehicle collisions, four structure fires, 12 alarms, one vehicle fire, one train derailment, and two electrical hazard incidents.

Twenty-two of the calls were in the town and 26 in the rural area.

The Cremona-Water Valley department responded to 48 calls. Of those, 28 were for medical assists, nine for fires, four for mutual aid to other departments, four for motor vehicle collisions, and three for alarms.

Eleven of the calls were in the Village of Cremona, 35 in Mountain View County, and two in the MDs of Bighorn or Rocky View.

The Olds department responded to 56 urban calls and 36 rural calls. In the urban area, members responded to five general fire calls, two rubbish fire calls, six motor vehicle incidents, three medical responses, 15 medical assists, two public hazard incidents, two for gas leaks, and 21 for alarms.

In the rural area, members responded to two general fires, nine rubbish/grass fires, one fire investigation, four mutual aid, 10 motor vehicle collisions, one medical first response, seven medical assists, and five alarms.

The Sundre department responded to 43 incidents, 26 in the rural area and 17 in town.

In the rural area, members responded to one general fire, five rubbish/grass fires, two mutual aid, one fire investigation, five motor vehicle incidents, eight medical assists, one public hazard electrical and two fire accidental.

In the town, members responded to one fire investigation, one ruptured water pipe call, two motor vehicle collisions, 10 medical assists and three alarms.

The department also responded to two incidents in Clearwater County.

The Town of Carstairs only provides the county fire department statistics on an annual basis.

From elsewhere in Atchison’s report, patrol officers recorded 254 offences in the second quarter, including vehicle stops for drivers travelling 58, 55, 54 and 53 kilometres over posted limits.

The most stops were made in the Dogpound, Fallentimber, Eagle Hill-Westward Ho, Netook, Water Valley and Wessex rural neighbourhoods.
