Mountain View County was officially recognized as the Olds College Partner of the Year 2018 during a ceremony at the school's Alumni Centre on April 13.

County reeve Bruce Beattie accepted congratulations from college president Stuart Cullum.

The Partner of the Year award is given to an organization that makes a significant contribution to the college community, said Cullum.

“Mountain View County has a long history of making valuable contributions to Olds College, most recently pledging support to the college’s Beyond campaign through a $500,000 donation to the Werklund Agriculture Institute,” said Cullum.

“The support we’ve received from Mountain View County over the years is testament to our longstanding and mutually beneficial relationship. I’d like to thank Mountain View County for its continued commitment towards investing in agriculture, investing in Olds College, and most importantly investing in our students.”

The college’s training of people to operate the modern equipment used in today’s agriculture is of great value to the food production industry, said Beattie.

During the ceremony, Cullum also commended the many other donors who support the college and its students.

“The generosity of all of our donors and partners is truly appreciated and is impacting the lives of our students and the quality of their education,” he said.

“It is also pivotal to the success of the college. Your support has a lasting impact on our learning environment and our students.”
