The 2016-17 Mountain View Cowpoke Junior Rodeo Club season is underway.
The first rodeo of the season was held at the Raecer Ranching Arena at Westward Ho on Oct. 29. In all, 89 young competitors took part.
The rodeo features competitors age three to 14. It is the second season for the club.
Competitors take part in a number of rodeo events: goat tying, goat untying, pole bending, steer riding, breakaway roping and barrel racing.
The results of the Oct. 29 rodeo are as follows:
• Grace Havens won the 7 and under pole bending event with a 28.82 time. Ellie Havens finished second and Jorgia Holmes finished third.
• Trippett Lunde won the 6 and under goat tail untying event with a 12.7 time. Raelynn Sande finished second and Jorgia Holmes finished third.
• Grace Havens won the 7 and under barrels event with an 18.05 time. Jorgia Holmes finished second and Raelynn Sande finished third.
• Brandon Tetz won the steer riding event with a 75 score. Gordon Erickson finished second and Glen Erickson finished third.
• Taiga Thorsteinsson won the 12-14 breakaway roping event. Jacey Barnett finished second.
• Denim Ross won the 11 and under breakaway roping event.
• Denim Ross won the 8-11 goat tying event with a 13.07 time. Cayden Cyrankiewicz finished second and Aubrey Ross finished third.
• Kyla Kelly won the 12-14 goat tying event with a 9.49 score. Taiga Thorsteinsson finished second and Justise Jones finished third.
• Reagan Tebb won the 12-14 barrel racing event with a 15.26 time. Paige Fenton finished second and Kyla Kelly finished third.
• Emma Webb won the 8-11 barrel racing event with a 15.2 time. Hannah Sheehan finished second and Aubrey Ross finished third.
• Denim Ross won the 8-11 pole bending event with a 22.81 time. Teagan Brink finished second and Aubrey Ross finished third.
• Jacey Barnett won the 12-14 pole bending event with a 22.4 time. Kyla Kelly finished second and Randon Ross finished third.
The 2016-17 season includes scheduled rodeos on Nov. 19, Jan. 28, Feb. 25, March 25 and the finals on April 15.
