In 2018, the Town of Carstairs had 108 development permits, down from 144 in 2017, as well as 38 new homes, down from 68 the year before. Business licences went up from 251 to 256 from 2017 to 2018.

The value of industrial and commercial for 2018 is $2,550,000, up from $832,500 in 2017. Meanwhile, total construction was $14,512,000 in 2018, down from $19,107,890 in 2017.

In 2018, the Village of Cremona issued five permits with two relating to new homes, and five new business licences (one storefront). Last year, Cremona had 10 permits with two relating to residential.

The number of business licences issued by the Town of Didsbury for 2018 was 396, up one from the previous year. Development permits were down from 111 in 2017 to 76 in 2018, while new builds were up from eight to 11 in the same time period. Seven less businesses (13) opened in 2018 as opposed to 2017 (20).

Up to the end of October, there were 319 permit applications in Mountain View County, with the report on the entire year expected to be released Feb. 6, 2019. There were a total of 365 permits issued in 2017.

As of Oct. 31, there were 106 discretionary development permit, 80 permitted development permit, three redesignation, and six subdivision applications.

As well, there were 178 building, 260 electrical, 180 gas, 88 plumbing and 56 sewage permit applications, for a year to date total of 762. There were a total of 1,041 applications in 2017.

As of Oct. 31, total building permit value was $33.8 million, including $4.5 million in October.
