DIDSBURY -- A number of Didsbury Aqua-Jets hit for personal bests at the team's home swim meet on Saturday at the Didsbury Aquatic Centre.
Aqua-Jets president and meet manager Monika Rosenke said the meet went very well.
"We had 223 swimmers in total competing," said Rosenke. "Thirty of those were from the Didsbury Aqua-Jets. The rest of the swimmers were from clubs from Calgary, High River, Okotoks, Canmore and Cochrane."
Rosenke said that those 30 local swimmers competed in a total of 118 difference races.
"Thirty-three of those races were swimmers trying to compete with a new stroke or longer distance," she said. "We had 92 best times recorded. This is in part due to the great effort put in by our coaching staff Jesse Ritter, Grace Kreiser and Yvonne Lundeen."
The Aqua-Jets' season started on May 1 and their first meet was on June 1 in Cochrane, said Rosenke. Didsbury's home meet was their second.
"I am very happy with how our swim meet went," she said. 'I am also very proud of how well our swimmers represented our small-town club this past weekend."
The next meet for the Aqua-Jets is a two-day meet on June 14 and 15 in High River.
