The U16 bantam Innisfail Indians girls softball team brought home bronze medals after a tournament held in Stettler over the June 1-3 weekend.
“We've come a long way from the start of the season,” said Carey MacDonald, the coach.
MacDonald said the girls won every game but their first at the tournament. They lost to the Killam team.
“I think we out-hit every team that we play,” MacDonald said. He said the pitching is improving.
“We get better every game,” he said of the Indians.
No one game from the tournament stood out as particularly hard-fought for the coach.
“Every game is tough. All the teams are really close,” he said of the skill levels.
MacDonald is looking for a strong finish as the team heads towards provincials.
“I'm hoping we're in the top four,” he said.
