Chant and partner win bronze in ice dance

Olds resident Kobi Chant, 16, and partner Savanna Martel, 13, of Airdrie won a bronze medal Wednesday (Feb. 27) in pre-novice ice dance during the Canada Winter Games in Red Deer.

The duo led the pre-novice ice dance competition after the waltz and blues pattern dances on Monday (Feb. 25), but in the end were beaten by Hailey Yu and Brendan Giang of the Vancouver Ice Dance Academy who won gold, as well as Joel Portz and Grace Pele of Calgary who won the silver medal.
