DIDSBURY - The Didsbury Curling Club held its annual general meeting last week and members are looking forward to a bright future.

The club recently wrapped up another successful season in mid-March with league play ending.

The executive members for 2018-19 will be Dave Fife, president; Brian Clazie, vice-president; Shirley Madge, treasurer; and Lana Mouseau, secretary.

"The board will be meeting throughout the summer to ensure another great curling season coming up," said Julie Gregg, with Didsbury Curling Club communications.

The club will need to replace Chrystal Wishusen, who is stepping down as mixed league rep after many years.

"The club thanks Chrystal for her volunteerism and loyalty to the club," said Gregg. "If you would love to be the new rep please step up. Chrystal will be available as mentor when needed."

This past season, the membership for the club was about 150 people, said Gregg.

"We have junior curling that goes twice a week, Mondays and Wednesdays after school run by volunteer coaches and parents," she said. "We have men's league once a week on Tuesday evenings; those members are also required to serve volunteer hours. Sturling (stick curling) league goes Tuesdays both morning and afternoon with a soup and sandwich lunch. The league of mainly seniors has over 50 members."

The club held a number of successful bonspiels over the year including ones for juniors, mixed, men and families.
