DIDSBURY -- The Didsbury Mixed Bonspiel took place on March 8-10 at the Didsbury Curling Club. The mixed bonspiel, which is the last bonspeil of the season for the club, featured 12 local teams competing over three days.

Bringing home the A event championship was the Rick Philips Jr. rink. The Brian Clazie rink finished tops in the B event, while Vern Wilshusen and his rink finished first in the C event.

Club communications director Julie Gregg said the event was a success despite somewhat low numbers.

"Everyone had fun and curled well," said Gregg. "There were plenty of amazing finesse shots made! The atmosphere was one of friendship and community. We had a potluck banquet, which was a great way to follow a day of curling on Saturday and to refuel for Sunday."
