Olds Grizzlys business operations manager Joel Hunter has resigned.
The Olds Sportsmen's Recreation Association, which operates the Junior A hockey team, announced Hunter's resignation yesterday (March 20).
Rebecca Henderson, interim president of the Olds Sportsmen's Recreation Association, confirmed that Hunter has accepted employment elsewhere. Having put in his notice two weeks prior, the resignation was effective Sunday (March 19). Hunter was not available for further comment.
"The organization would like to thank Joel for all the time and hard work he has put in over the two-plus seasons that he has been with the organization," the press release read.
Grizzlys head coach Dana Lattery said Hunter put in a lot of hours on the job, working seven days a week, often clocking more than 10 hours a day.
"It's a lot of hard work and not always rewarding," said Lattery. "I think it's probably good for Joel, good for everybody."
The organization has not yet named a replacement, however Henderson said Hunter will stay on for the next two home games against the Bandits.
