The Olds Grizzlys have traded Dustin Gorgi, Josh Zablocki, and Alex Brewer to Grande Prairie Storm in exchange for leading scorer Jade McMullen.
The trade was announced today (Monday, Dec. 1).
Mcmullen sits atop of the storm in scoring with 19 goals and 13 assists for 32 points. He is also eighth in the league in points thus far this season.
The Grizzlys made the trade to add some scoring depth going into the last half of the season.
“Jade obviously brings a scoring presence with him and we believe he is a guy who will fit in well with our top 6 forwards to make us a threatening team offensively. Its tough to give up three very good players for us in Gorgi, Zablocki, and Brewer; however, in order to get better you have to give something back in return.
“All three of those kids are great players and even better kids, there is no doubt that they will all have success in their hockey carrers.” head coach Brett Hopfe said.
