Although final numbers aren't yet in, the Olds Grizzlys held a successful casino fundraiser on Feb. 4.
Attendance numbers were “down from last year, but … it went over quite well,” said Tammy Moritz, business manager for the Grizzlys.
About 160 people turned out for the event, and Moritz said with many minor hockey teams playing their final games of the season and heading into playoffs, many supporters weren't able to make it out.
“We had a lot of wonderful items donated by local businesses and parents. The auction went really well,” she said.
The guest speakers this year, Dennis Polonich and Pat Elyniuk were well received by those in attendance.
“They were absolutely fantastic,” Moritz said.
The money raised from the casino goes into general operations of the club.
