The Grizzlys' Wyatt Noskey is this season's AJHL scoring champion.
In 60 regular season games with Olds, Noskey scored 29 goals and recorded 54 assists to capture the Ernie Love Trophy. He was also a finalist for league MVP and the Most Dedicated Player award.
"The season's been awesome. Definitely grew a lot as a person and a player this year. It's been a real pleasure playing here. These guys make me a better person, a better player so I've enjoyed my time here," Noskey said.
"I didn't really expect it to go this way. I came into the season wanting to have a good year and I'm happy it worked out that way."
Noskey's linemate Chase Olsen finished in second place, with 32 goals and 49 assists in 58 games.
Olsen, in his first season in the league, said he was just trying to find his place on the team and never expected to have such a productive year.
"I was just trying to fit in on the team, do the best I could and see what role I could fill and produce," Olsen said.
At 83 and 81 points respectively, Noskey and Olsen averaged more than a point per game, avoiding prolonged scoring slumps.
Noskey said they took pride in their consistency over the course of the season.
"Bringing it every day and every game, just being consistent, hardworking. Playing for each other has really helped us."
They also become good friends.
"We grew spiritually together. That off the ice helped us produce on the ice with our chemistry together. Never thinking about the end goal but just continuously going game by game and practice by practice together," Olsen said.
"I'd say that by helping each other achieve success and working with the chemistry we had, it helped the team to get the best of us. We give it our all every day to better ourselves and therefore our team."
Spencer Dorowicz was the last Grizzlys player to finish as the league's leading scorer during the 2013-14 season.
