Kodiaks excel at zones; Austin and Good qualify for provincials

CARSTAIRS - Hugh Sutherland School track athletes did very well recently in both junior and senior high competition.

Both Aiden Good and Tanner Austin qualified for provincials after having strong results at the senior high zone championships on May 22 at Foothills Athletic Park in Calgary. Good finished first in both the 400M and the 800M, while Austin finished first in long jump and second in triple jump.

Alberta Schools Athletic Association (high school) provincial championships goes June 7/8 at Foothills Athletic Park in Calgary.

Also having good results at zones were: - Sophie Porter 6th 3000m

- Tiana Allison 7th Hurdles

- Aidan McDonald 6th in both Shot and Javelin

- Haiden Parks had a personal best in the 1500m

- 4x400m Boys team finished top five

Twenty-one junior high (Grade 7-9) athletes qualified for zones after finishing in the top two in the junior high divisional track meet on May 23 at Westglen School in Didsbury.

Aysiah, Keshay, Jacob 1st 3000m...Keshay beat all the grade 9s as well!
