Five local boys contributed to a gold medal win for the Gators, a select midget lacrosse team, at the Alberta Lacrosse Association's field lacrosse finals.
The Gators went undefeated in the round robin and beat Red Deer 12-6 in the final game of the tournament, which was held from August 23 to 24.
The Gators team is made up of players from Central Alberta, including Olds, Innisfail, Didsbury and Lacombe. The team does not represent a geographic location.
Players from Olds included: Graysen Cameron, Caden Switzer, Damian Vickers, Jordan Waddell and Matthew Gaudette.
