Students from Hugh Sutherland School in Carstairs, Cremona School and Westglen School in Didsbury participated in the Chinook's Edge Athletic's Association middle school basketball tournament, which took place over the weekend at Ecole Deer Meadow School and the Ralph Klein Centre in Olds.
The tournament featured 27 teams playing in four divisions - A girls, A boys, B girls and B boys.
Westglen School finished first in the B boys division beating Deer Meadow in the final, while Hugh Sutherland finished third.
The Westglen B girls also took gold in their division, beating Deer Meadow as well.
Westglen finished second in the A girls division final losing to Deer Meadow on a last second buzzer beater.
Westglen finished fourth in the A boys division losing a close game to Penhold Crossing of Penhold in the bronze medal game.
Hugh Sutherland's A boys team had two wins and one loss and finished in fifth place. Hugh Sutherland's A girls had a win and two losses for sixth place, while the B girls had a win and a loss and tied for fourth place.
Cremona's A boys and A girls both finished in eighth place, while the B girls had a win and a loss and ended up tied for fourth place in the B girls division.
