Locals do well at Stampede

CREMONA-DIDSBURY - The 2019 Calgary Stampede had a distinct Mountain View flavour as it usually does. A couple of local competitors did very well in the rodeo events. Didsbury's Morgan Grant competed in the tie-down roping competition.

CREMONA-DIDSBURY - The 2019 Calgary Stampede had a distinct Mountain View flavour as it usually does. A couple of local competitors did very well in the rodeo events.

Didsbury's Morgan Grant competed in the tie-down roping competition. Grant competed in Pool A from July 6-9.

His best day was July 8 when he placed 6th and won $2,500 after having times of 8.9 and 8.8 as well as two NTs.

In the chuckwagon races, Cremona brothers Chad and Jordie Fike both did well.

Chad place 7th in the aggregate standings with 9:57.43 for a payout of $7,500. Chad finished 6th cumulatively, winning $39,150 for a total time of 12:23.50.

Jordie had an aggregate time of 10:04.44. He finished 16th in the cumulative standings winning $26,650 with a total time of 12:31.88.
