Members of the Olds College (OC) badminton team are gearing up for the team championship and individual provincial championships, which take place this weekend (Feb. 16 and 17) at Concordia University in Edmonton.
OC badminton players are coming off a strong showing last weekend when they hosted a regional badminton tournament.
Head coach Mary Smith notes Rylan Head and Kacie Peever placed fifth in mixed doubles.
Luther Jurke and Colton Geier finished sixth in men's doubles.
"Meghan Cameron, a rookie (on) the badminton team, also had her first ACAC win against Kings player Angelica Alberto 21-9 21-10, showing immense improvement over the course of the season," Smith says.
Concordia dominated that tournament, placing first in men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, and mixed doubles.
