Olds College's men's basketball team beat the St. Mary's University College Lightning 87-67 at home on Nov. 15.
It was the second victory for the Broncos over the Lightning that weekend, with the team winning in Calgary the night before.
The team is now 5-3 and sits fourth in the ACAC South standings.
First-year guard Kaleel Faiz was the Broncos' player of the game, scoring 25 points, recording 5 rebounds and 3 assists.
The Broncos scored the first nine points of the game and never looked back, leading 30-9 after the first quarter.
They were up 51-24 by halftime.
“The first half was great. The kids executed the gameplan. They did exactly what they were supposed to do. Whenever you have a big lead like that, it's tough to keep the foot on the gas pedal with a young team,” said Broncos head coach Ben Julius.
“I wanted to get everybody in the game and at some points, it showed but I was very happy with our overall effort from buzzer to buzzer.”
