OLDS — It was a mixed end to the season for the École Olds High School JV girls basketball team.
Head coach Rochelle Van Eaton says they finished in seventh place in zones, but in first place in the league.
“We completed our league finals and proudly can say we stayed undefeated all season,” Van Eaton wrote in an email.
On the other hand, zones were a humbling experience.
The Spartans finished in seventh place, getting just one win, against Brooks. The score was 61-38.
“The JV girls last year did not attend zones, so we were unsure of what to expect,” Van Eaton wrote.
“Unfortunately, it was a harder battle than we expected. They gave it their all and had fun while out on the court.
“This season has ended, but all are ready to gear back up again next year, stronger and more experienced.”
