DIDSBURY - After a tough weekend that saw them lose twice, the Mountain View Colts have dropped to below .500.

On Friday in Okotoks against the Heritage League leading Bisons, the Colts had a 3-2 lead after one but fell 4-3.

Logan Richards opened up scoring in the game for Mountain View at the 13:49 mark of the first period assisted by Zane Leatherdale and Sam Kolke.

Devyn Stewart and Tyson Laduke scored back-to-back goals to put Okotoks up 2-1.

Travis Gerrard tied the game with a power-play marker assisted by Caden Switzer and Richards with two minutes left in the first.

Colts captain Alan Klinck gave the Colts a 3-2 lead about 20 seconds later assisted by Gerrard and Trevor Simpson.

The Bisons tied the score in the second with a goal from Riker Franczak.

Nic Jordan scored the game-winner for Okotoks at 8:44 of the third period.

On Saturday at the Didsbury Memorial Complex, the Colts took the lead early in the first period with a goal from rookie Paton Rothenbusch assisted by brother Laine Rothenbusch and Carter Layden.

The Medicine Hat Cubs scored two in a row within a minute late in the second to tie the game and take the lead, which they would hold on to for the remainder of the game.

The back-to-back losses put the Colts in fourth place in the Heritage League’s North Division with 21 points, three points behind third-place Red Deer.

This weekend the Colts are on the road Friday in Rocky Mountain House to face the Rams and Saturday in Red Deer to play the Vipers.
