The Okotoks Oilers scored three power-play goals in the first period to beat the Olds Grizzlys 6-2 on Feb. 11.
Just past midway through the first, Oilers forward Ambrose Firkus slapped a shot from the right hash marks and beat Grizzlys goalie Ethan Jemieff.
The power-play goal gave Okotoks an early 3-0 lead and was the third goal in a span of about three minutes.
A visibly angry Jemieff was chased to the bench after allowing three goals on eight shots.
Okotoks scored their third goal with the man-advantage late in the first to take a 4-0 lead by intermission.
One minute after the break, forward Christopher Gerrie tallied his 16th goal to put Olds on the board.
The Grizzlys took the lead in shots and created chances for themselves in the second period, including an opportunity where leading scorer Spencer Dorowicz muscled his way to the net on his backhand, only to have Oilers goalie Jared D'Amico kick the puck out of the crease.
The Okotoks goalie stopped 27 of 29 shots in the victory.
The Oilers extended their lead after forward John Edwardth capitalized on a 2-on-1 pass from Firkus.
After Austin Kernahan scored for Olds, the Oilers sealed the game in the third period with their fourth power-play goal of the night from Rhett Gardner to make it 6-2.
Olds has now lost three straight games, including a loss to the Calgary Canucks on Feb. 6 and a loss to the Drayton Valley Thunder on Feb. 8.
The Grizzlys were scheduled to play the Drumheller Dragons on Feb. 14 and the Brooks Bandits on February 15 and 17.
Their next game is on Feb. 21 at Okotoks.
