Olds Koinonia senior boys are basketball champs

The Olds Koinonia Christian School senior boys' basketball team has just finished an incredible 2017-18 season. They won their second senior boys' provincial title and the first one in 22 years (OKCS also won it back in 1996).

The Olds Koinonia Christian School senior boys' basketball team has just finished an incredible 2017-18 season.

They won their second senior boys' provincial title and the first one in 22 years (OKCS also won it back in 1996).The boys were also ranked number 1 in the province the entire season, through all three ranking periods and finished the season with an overall record of 25-4.They won the Chinook's Edge

South Athletic Association Senior league. In addition, they won tournaments at Parkland Immanuel, Foremost, Rosemary and Coaldale, as well as back-to-back South Central Zones and capped the season off by winning the 1A boys' provincials the weekend of March 17 in Lacombe.

At provincials, the Royals boys defeated Breton 81-65 in their first game, downed Central Alberta Christian 73-55 in the semifinals, and crushed Rosemary 82-57 in the finals.

The Olds Koinonia senior girls' basketball team finished the season ranked number 4 in the province.

They finished seventh at provincials after winning back-to-back south central zones championships.
