Peewee Stingers win lacrosse tournament

The Olds peewee Stingers won the gold medal in the Parkland Posse tournament in Edmonton, May 25-27. The team is now getting ready to host the Central Alberta novice playoffs, June 22-24.

The Olds peewee Stingers won the gold medal in the Parkland Posse tournament in Edmonton, May 25-27.

The team is now getting ready to host the Central Alberta novice playoffs, June 22-24.

The Stingers dominated the tournament, finishing first in their division after trouncing the Posse 10-4 on Friday, May 25, thrashing the Axemen 14-4 Saturday morning and beating the Rage 6-2 Saturday afternoon. They beat the Posse again, 6-2, to in the gold medal game on Sunday.

All 12 Central Alberta Lacrosse League teams will be participating in the playoffs in Olds.
In addition to the Stingers they are the Didsbury Chargers, Innisfail Phantoms, Blackfalds Warriors,  Sylvan Lake Buccaneers, Lacoka Locos 1, Lacoka Locos 2, Red Deer Chiefs 1,  Red Deer Chiefs 2, Red Deer Chiefs 3, Red Deer Chiefs 4, and the Stettler Thunder.

Also, Bantam player Ben Nielsen has made the Alberta Summer Games Team. The games will take place in Grande Prairie July 19-22.
