CREMONA -- Hockey season is officially over for Cremona Minor Hockey. The association recently held its awards banquet.
The club gave out two special memorial trophies named in memory of players who passed far too young. Hunter Dal Collo was presented with the Curtis Backstrom Memorial Trophy for best goalie by Cody and Michelle Backstrom.
Nic Tronsgard was presented with the Travis Deagnon Memorial Trophy by Mrs. Myrna Deagnon.
Other awards handed out were as follows:
Peewee - Most Improved Player - Billy Van Maarion; Most Sportsman Like - Riley Kelly; Best Forward Player - Nate Sherriffs; MVP - Nate Sherriffs; and Best Defence Player - Nic Tronsgard.
Atom - Most Improved Player - Oliver McKinnon; Rookie of the Year - Mason Lindberg; Most Sportsman Like - Joel Elliott; Best Forward Player - Landon Graham; and Best Defence Player - Porter Pighin.
Novice Full Ice - Most Improved Player - Charlie Chambers; Most Sportsman Like - Jake Kinch; MVP - Kade Davidson; Best Forward Player - Easton Drake; and Best Defence Player - Layne Liesemer.
Novice 1/2 Ice - Most Improved Player - Rylan Backs; Most Sportsman Like - Isaac Foat; and MVP - Sloan Kinch.
Tyke Travel - Most Improved Player - Haven Edmond; Most Sportsman Like - Colton Rappel; and MVP - Huxley Gano.
Tyke House - Most Improved Player - Quinn and Jonah Majak; Most Sportsman Like - Ben McCarthy; and Most Dedicated Player - Daniel Foat and Hailey Liesemer.
