Two teams from the Olds Minor Soccer Club medalled at the Big Country Soccer Association's U-12 District Finals over the weekend.
The U-12 girls Team 2, coached by Ray Hoppins and Darla Korver won gold.
The U-12 boys, coached by Kristy Hart and Mike Hanna, won silver.
Earlier in the week, the club held a food drive for the local food bank during its U-6 windup event. Donations were also collected at its mini-tournament for U-8 and U-10 players.
Olds' Victoria Wagstaff and Trochu's Shane Issler will represent the Olds Rapids at the 2016 Speedo Alberta Age Group and Senior Championships in Calgary from June 30 to July 3.
The club had three swimmers at the Alberta Age Group Trials in Lethbridge this past weekend, including Issler, who won a silver medal in the 50-metre freestyle. He was joined by Aysiah Dunham and Alivia Walker, who finished sixth in the 100-m butterfly and 12th in the 50-m breaststroke respectively.
