Grizzlys make trade with Klippers The Olds Grizzlys have obtained forward Justin Gerwing from the Kindersley Klippers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League in exchange for goaltender Riley Parker.

Grizzlys make trade with Klippers

The Olds Grizzlys have obtained forward Justin Gerwing from the Kindersley Klippers of the Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League in exchange for goaltender Riley Parker. Parker played in 19 games last season for the Grizzlys, earning seven victories against eight losses. He posted a .884 save percentage last season.

In exchange, the Grizzlys receive a left-winger who last season posted four goals and one assist in 39 games for the Klippers.

“Justin will have an opportunity to play his game and add some grit to the Grizzly lineup,” said Kevin Willison, Grizzlys' head coach, in a press release.

Roy joins Grizzlys support staff

Jeff Roy has joined the Olds Grizzlys as an athletic therapist for the team.

“He has shown a lot of enthusiasm in having an opportunity to be part of the Olds Grizzlys organization,” said Kevin Willison, the Grizzlys' head coach and director of hockey operations.

Roy comes to the team having graduated from Vancouver Island University in 2009 with a physical education major and an advanced certificate in athletic therapy.

Nugent wins at Abbotsford

Water Valley super looper Mark Nugent wrapped up the Abbotsford Pro Rodeo by flanking his calf in 8.4 seconds to capture the tie-down roping event at the popular rodeo.

For his effort, Nugent tucked $1,676.
