As of late this past week there was still an opportunity to tee off in the 16th annual Olds Rotary Club Golf Tournament.
The 18-hole scramble takes place Friday, June 17 at the Olds Central Highlands Golf Club. It's a fundraiser for the Rotary Club.
“We have 13 teams or 52 spots remaining,” golf committee chair Craig Witcher said late Thursday.
Fees are $150 for a single golfer and $550 for a foursome. The fee for a corporate team, which includes four golfers and signage, is $675.
“If they can't golf or they don't want to put in a team, they can also just provide corporate sponsorship, which is signage only, and that's $150,” Witcher said.
For their money, golfers get 18 holes of golf with power cart as well as lunch on the course and supper afterward.
“Then included in the day they have the opportunity to participate in a par 3 poker rally and par 3 putting and chipping contests. Those are at added cost but they're available that day,” Witcher said. “And then there are other door prizes.”
Registration begins at 8:45 a.m. The tournament (shotgun start) begins at 10 a.m. The event dinner starts at 4 p.m.
Money raised from the tournament goes toward helping out the local community, youth exchanges, etc., and international projects.
