Golfers are slowly but surely getting into the swing of things as local courses prepare to open for the season.

Brady Hallgren, who lives north of Sundre, enjoys on the afternoon of Thursday, May 3 the opportunity to warm up his golf swing at the Coyote Creek Golf and RV Resort, which had just opened up its driving range for the first day of the season.

"It is late this year!" he said.

However, having the week before had the chance to drive some balls at the Meadowlands Golf Club in Sylvan Lake, it was already his second time out on the range.

Both Coyote Creek and the Sundre Golf Club anticipate opening their fairways this Friday, May 11.
