OLDS — Three-time Olympian Neville Wright will be the keynote speaker for the second annual Broncos Scholarship Breakfast, which takes place Saturday, Feb. 8 at 9 a.m. on the Olds College Alumni Centre.
All proceeds from the event will go toward Broncos scholarships and student-athlete services on campus.
Wright began his athletic career in track and field, representing Canada as a sprinter in the 4x100 metre relay during the 2007 IAAF World Championships in Osaka, Japan, then adding a bronze medal during the 2007 FISU Summer Universiade in Bangkok, Thailand.
He then represented Canada in the four-man bobsleigh event during the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Sochi, Russia in 2014 and Pyeongchang, South Korea in 2018.
The Edmonton native is familiar to Broncos student-athletes, having worked with them throughout the season through Head To Head, an initiative where Olympians are paired with young athletes across Canada in a mentorship role.
It’s the second straight year that the Broncos have been involved with Head To Head, having paired with women’s national hockey team member Brianne Jenner last season.
