Olds and area residents have until 4 p.m. June 30 to nominate someone to participate in the torch relay for the 2019 Canada Winter Games.
The Games take place in Red Deer Feb. 15-March 3, 2019.
The torch is scheduled to go through Olds Jan. 31. You can nominate a deserving past or present resident or apply yourself.
The MNP Canada Games Torch Relay begins Oct. 4 this year in Ottawa and will visit 48 communities across the country before ending up in Red Deer for the opening ceremonies.
It's anticipated each community along the route will have 10 to 15 torchbearers.
You can nominate a resident you think deserves to be a torchbearer by filling out an online application form which is available at www.canadagames.ca/2019/mnptorchrelay.
