The funds were authorized by way of motion at the board’s recent regularly scheduled meeting, held by teleconference.

The Ag for Life group received $12,500 for its rural safety unit, a mobile classroom that is equipped with interactive stations, presentations and dedicated specialized staff.

In a briefing note to the board, administration said the funds will be used to “provide educational mobile programming in the municipal district of Mountain View County at schools, rural communities and/or events. The funds will be utilized to cover transportation, materials, maintenance and staffing costs.”
