MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY - The county’s municipal planning commission (MPC) has approved a development permit for a recreation vehicle storage facility in the Netook rural neighbourhood adjacent to Olds.
The move came by way of motion at the commission’s recent regularly scheduled council meeting, held by teleconference. The MPC is the county’s approving authority and is made up of councillors and appointed public members.
The property involved is located adjacent to the Town of Olds boundary and Highway 2A, at NW 4-33-1-5. The property consists of 4.36 acres with 2.9 acres proposed to be utilized for recreational vehicle storage.
The site would have a maximum of 100 recreation vehicles.
The recreational vehicle storage facility will operate 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. year-round, and will include up to two employees in addition to the operator who will reside on site.
Administration circulated the application to adjacent landowners and no comment or concerns were received, members heard.
The approval comes with a number of conditions, including that the applicant will install a six-foot high chain link fencing around the perimeter of the RV storage area, and that no camping is permitted in any of the vehicles stored at the site.
