MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY - RCMP are seeking public help in identifying a sexual assault suspect in a case involving a minor, RCMP Cpl. Gina Slaney said Monday.

On July 20, RCMP received a report of sexual assault involving a minor that occurred on July 19 at a cabaret following the Dog Pound rodeo.

The incident occurred on or within walking distance of the rodeo grounds, located west of Highway 22 south of Cremona.

The suspect is believed to have gone by the name of Carter.

He is described as having a fair complexion and clean shaven, slightly obese, about six feet tall, with dirty blond hair maybe in a mullet style, and wearing a light coloured button up shirt, blue jeans and boots.

Police says the suspect should not be approached.

Cpl. Slaney told the Albertan police issued a press release Monday as part of an investigation that has been underway for some time.

“It is a way to garner further evidence and tips to try to identify this guy,” she said. “I think the composite (drawing) looks good and the fact that they believe his name is Carter, I’m hopeful for this, that we get some tips.”

Anyone with information about the identity of this suspect is being asked to contact Didsbury RCMP at  403-335-3382 or your local police.

Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), online at www.P3Tips.com or by using the P3 Tips app available through the Apple App or Google Play Store.
