Mountain View County, Red Deer County under fog advisory Monday night

Dense fog continues during the night of Dec. 16 with conditions expected to improve Tuesday morning

MOUNTAIN VIEW COUNTY - Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a fog advisory for all of Mountain View County and the urban centres near it Monday evening as well as parts of Red Deer County.

“Dense fog will continue tonight. Conditions are expected to improve Tuesday morning.Travel is expected to be hazardous due to reduced visibility in some locations,” the federal agency said in its 5:57 p.m. Dec. 16 advisory.

Areas under the advisory issued Monday evening include:

• Mountain View County near Carstairs, Cremona, Water Valley, Olds, Didsbury and Sundre;

• Red Deer County near Penhold, Innisfail, Bowden, Spruce View and Red Lodge Provincial Park.

If visibility is reduced while driving, the federal agency advises to turn on your lights and maintain a safe following distance.
