WATER VALLEY - The 23rd annual Water Valley Celtic Festival goes this Saturday at seven covered venues.
In all, more than 120 performances are scheduled by 60 acts.
Second-year festival director Richard Otte says organizers are expecting another great day of music and arts.
More than 70 volunteers are on board to help make the day-long festival a success again in 2023.
“We have such an excellent volunteer community here,” he said.
The festival runs from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m., with temperatures forecasted to be in the high teens.
The outdoor open Porch Jam is back at this year’s festival, he said.
Many of the performers at this year’s festival have played at the festival in the past, with musicians coming from across the district and beyond.
Food and beverages will be available for guests at the community hall, the Beer, Wine and Mead Tent, the Water Valley Saloon, the Chapel Cafe, and the General Store, he noted.
“Parking can stretch down the road a ways so we encourage people to come as a group. Plus there is a shuttle service to help get people to and from their vehicles,” he said.
The Water Valley Celtic Festival is patterned on a similar annual festival held at Feakle, Co. Clare, Ireland, which was the inspiration for founder Dave Settles.
