TORONTO — Phil Lind, who helped build Rogers Communications Inc. as an executive and board member, died Sunday on his 80th birthday.

ATLANTA (AP) — Maxie Baughan, a College Football Hall of Famer from Georgia Tech and a nine-time Pro Bowler in the NFL, has died. He was 85. The Philadelphia Eagles said Baughan died Saturday of natural causes at his home in Ithaca, New York.

LOS ANGELES (AP) — Ron Cephas Jones, a veteran stage actor who won two Emmy Awards for his role as a long-lost father who finds redemption on the NBC television drama series “This Is Us,” has died at age 66, a representative said Saturday.

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) — Howard Hubbard, a retired Catholic bishop who acknowledged covering up allegations of sexual abuse in his upstate New York diocese and recently married a woman in a civil ceremony, has died after suffering from a massive stroke.

MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — Former Minnesota Gov. Al Quie, a moderate Republican known for working across the aisle as both governor and as a congressman, has died. He was 99.

PARIS (AP) — The decorated French general in charge of the ambitious, big-budget restoration of fire-ravaged Notre Dame Cathedral in Paris, Jean-Louis Georgelin, has died. He was 74.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Former New York Sen. James Buckley, an early agitator for then-President Richard Nixon's resignation and winner of a landmark lawsuit challenging campaign spending limits, died Friday at age 100.
