1943 – 2025
It’s with great sadness the family announces the passing of Norval Martin Orriss on Monday, April 14, 2025, at the age of 82 years.
He is lovingly remembered by his daughters, Shawna (Jim) and Cindy as well as his grandchildren, Calvin (Sam) and Cally (Wyatt). He was predeceased by his parents, Wilbur and Gleva (nee Martin) Orriss.
Norval left Manitoba with his young family in 1967, and moved to Carstairs, AB. He worked throughout Alberta and into BC as an industrial, commercial and residential painter.
Norval was always up for a visit and a beer in his garage, a fire in the backyard or a Foosball game in the basement. He enjoyed playing his guitar and harmonica, downhill skiing, travelling and especially playing hockey with the Carstairs Indians. Norval could always be counted on, helping with many projects professionally and personally. He had many lifelong friends he held dear and was only a phone call away. Norval loved his daughters and cherished his grandchildren.
A private family time of remembrance will be held.
