First off, the 2014 Summer Oldstice celebration on June 21 has found a new home on 50 Avenue between 50 and 48 streets with the event's main stage in the parking lot of the Texas Mickey bar across from Shoppers Drug Mart.The day kicks off with a pancake breakfast at 8 a.m. with the ninth annual Mountain View Pistons Show and Shine beginning at 10 a.m. along 48 Street just west of 50 Avenue.The market place opens at 11 a.m. with numerous vendors including a Surrey bicycle vendor.Surrey bicycles are buggy-style bicycles that can carry between two and five people where all riders pedal.Entertainment, including three bands, kicks off at 11 a.m. as well.The Show and Shine runs until 4 p.m. and the main Oldstice celebration wraps up at 6 p.m.Visitors and residents are encouraged to park in a newly expanded lot at 49 Avenue and 50 Street.Parking is also available in the lot at 51 Avenue and 52 Street, as well as the Shoppers Drug Mart parking lot.For more information, contact Uptowne Olds at 403-559-9041.
