The Olds RCMP detachment has issued a reminder to Olds residents that there are various phone scams going.
Olds residents have contacted the detachment to express concern about receiving phone calls from individuals and automated services offering deals that were too good to be true.
"We just want to let people know to maintain vigilance when they get those random phone calls from people that are claiming that they have won vacations and are requesting credit card information,î said Const. Aaron Bartsch.
"People should use an appropriate level of judgment.î
Bartsch said people should trust their instinct.
"If something is suspicious, and you are getting a weird feeling about it, that is probably because it is not right,î he said.
