A Bowden man died on the weekend in a head-on collision on Highway 587 just north of Bowden.
RCMP said Richard Sorensen, 45, was driving a Dodge Dakota truck westbound on Highway 587 about 3 p.m. on Sunday when it crossed the centre line and collided with a semi tractor trailer unit that was heading east, police said. Sorensen died on scene, succumbing to significant injuries.
Olds and Innisfail RCMP were dispatched to the scene. The driver of the semi unit was not injured.
Neither speed nor road conditions were believed to be factors in the collision. The Calgary medical examiner's office is involved and an autopsy is pending.
